Learning Through Movement Together
Our community-centered approach transforms how dancers grow, creating connections that extend far beyond the studio walls
Where Individual Growth Meets Collective Energy
-
Rotating Practice Partnerships
Each week brings new creative partnerships. You'll work with different dancers, discovering how various movement styles complement and challenge your own artistic voice.
-
Peer Feedback Circles
Structured sessions where dancers share observations and insights. These circles build confidence while developing critical thinking about movement and creative expression.
-
Collaborative Choreography Labs
Small groups create original pieces together, learning to negotiate creative differences while building something beautiful that none could have made alone.
Building Connections That Last
The relationships formed in our program often surprise students. What begins as shared warm-ups and technique work evolves into creative partnerships, professional collaborations, and genuine friendships that support artistic growth for years to come.
"Working with Celestine pushed me past my comfort zone. Her background in contemporary gave me new ways to think about floor work that I still use today."
"The group projects taught me how to communicate movement ideas clearly. Now I can explain what I'm feeling in my body, which has made me a better performer and teacher."
"Three of us from the program started a small company together. We already knew how to work as a team because we'd been doing it for months in class."
Three Phases of Creative Development
Our program unfolds gradually, giving you time to build trust with your peers while developing technical skills and creative confidence.
Foundation Building
Establishing trust and communication within your cohort while exploring fundamental movement principles together. Daily warm-ups become group rituals that set the tone for creative work.
Creative Exploration
Collaborative projects begin as you work in rotating partnerships and small groups. This is where individual styles start to influence and be influenced by others in your community.
Collective Creation
The entire cohort collaborates on a final project that showcases both individual growth and collective creativity. Past projects have ranged from site-specific installations to traditional stage works.
